The old adage "actions speak louder than words" is what we have all heard before and it's an important lesson to learn. But, how many of us actually live by this? It can be hard to always behave with impeccable integrity, but if you want to succeed in your professional life, then being impeccable with your word is the foundation of your success. There are so many things that go into becoming a well-respected professional: active listening skills, communication skills, organization skills...the list goes on and on. However one thing that professionals need more than anything else is honesty; without honesty there isn't any way for people who work with them or know them personally to trust them. The truth is that we are all human beings. And we make mistakes. We do not need to be perfect, but what we can do is try to be better every day. It’s important to remember that our words have an impact on other people, so it’s up to us how we want them to perceive us. If you are a person who always says what they think without second thoughts, this episode is for you! Be impeccable with your word by following the Four Agreements and watch as your life improves in many ways. You will feel more confident when speaking or writing because you know that you put in an effort into being honest with yourself and others around you. Which is absolutely critical right now. By saying only what needs to be said instead of blurting out whatever comes into our minds, we can become more mindful about how others perceive us based on our words alone. Our communication skills can improve dramatically when we use fewer words because everything has been carefully thought through before. Be impeccable with your word and watch your professional success soar to new heights. This episode draws upon the work of Don Miguel Ruiz and his book “The Four Agreements” Agreement 1: Be Impeccable With Your Word. Agreement 2: Don't Take Anything Personally. Agreement 3: Don't Make Assumptions. Agreement 4: Always Do Your Best. Enjoy.
