In this week’s episode I am answering listener questions … two listeners in the course of a week asked me ‘can you give me some tips to MC an event?’ … so here is that episode!

If you have the opportunity to MC an event your job is so much more than just ‘traffic cop’, introducing the speakers and letting people know where the bathrooms are. Your job as MC is to wrap all the disparate (and sometimes boring) pieces of an event together and help the audience leave with a really positive and enjoyable experience.

Listen in to discover:

  • What are the different ‘jobs’ you have as MC, and how to be brilliant at them
  • How to make even the most nervous of speakers feel and look awesome on stage
  • How to ensure that all the other speakers keep to time, so your audience isn’t bored or looking at their watches
  • The steps I take to mentally prepare for an event that leaves the audience feeling like they got value
  • And how to design your MC run sheet to meet all your stakeholders’ needs

If you’ve got an MC gig coming up and you’d like to ask me more questions, head over to the Speaking with Confidence Facebook Group and ask away.

And if you’d like to stop waffling, talking in circles or drowning your audience in all the things, get my FREE How To Stop Rambling ebook NOW
