Hello and welcome to the Sport for Business Podcast.

I’m your host Rob Hartnett and In today's Podcast, we are back in the world of the Business of Football.

This series is in partnership with our good friends who support all our football coverage, Sky Ireland. They bring us the best of the football action from the Premier League and every sport under the sun, and if you don’t want to sign up to a contract they have Now TV which allows you to dip in and out on terms that suit you.

Our guest this morning is one of the leaders in the SSE Airtricity Premier League and has just secured a deal to secure the future of his club, his hometown’s club, Drogheda United.

Conor Hoey is the former Chair of the Club and has spent the last year putting together a deal with investors from Birmingham, Alabama that he feels will be brilliant for the club, the fans, and the town.

We talk about the new investment, the importance of local sport, and the need for upgraded facilities.

This is a conversation that you don’t get to eavesdrop on a regular basis and as this year’s League campaign draws to a conclusion, we think it is an important one that you will enjoy if you have an interest in the domestic game getting better and better.
