Episode 105

David Pollack was one of the most dominating defensive players during his time at the University of Georgia. A three-time All-American and three-time All-Southeastern Conference selection, Pollack was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. His career came to an abrupt end, however, after he suffered a broken neck during his second season in the NFL.

He joins "Table Forty" with Matt and Leslee Holliday this week to talk about his career and the injury and how that experience ended up being what he considers the best thing for him, especially for his faith in God. Pollack got into sports media shortly after he retired from playing football and in 2011 he became a member of ESPN's College GameDay. In 2020, he was selected as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Pollack and his wife, Lindsey, run the Pollack Family Foundation, which seeks to raise awareness about childhood obesity and promote better nutritional habits for youths. Pollack also hosts the Family Goals Podcast alongside Pastor Jonathan Howes, which features weekly conversations about God, family, and sports.

“Table Forty” is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
