How do you get kids interested in gardening? That’s a question I get asked often. It’s a big question, because kids are pretty sophisticated these days. Their lives are fast-paced and they process information just as quickly. Indeed, they are growing up in the age of acceleration. So when it comes to fostering a love for gardening, it’s important to recognize that today’s kids aren’t your grandma’s garden helpers! As a mom of four teenagers, I’ve helped each of my children forge their own unique connections to the garden. It’s my belief that when you find a way to marry the garden to a child’s curiosity and strengths, you’ll create a lifelong gardener.
