His story and journey into broadcast news are unique. Before becoming a journalist, he was once a sergeant with the Oakland Police Department in California. He aspired to be a television journalist but was told without a college degree it was impossible. Married with a couple of kids and an extremely demanding law enforcement career he couldn’t squeeze college in. But he did not give up!
