Show notes:

  • I am wearing a new hat as an author.
  • I was having one of those crossroad moments and something needed to change.
  • What lights me up? How do I follow my joy?
  • My epiphany was "I need to write a book".
  • It needs to be a book and you are the one to write it!
  • Started my book with what I knew so I would not get overwhelmed and shut it down.
  • I wanted to do it for the love of telling the story of kids with autism and making a difference.
  • Writing was challenging for me but it was exhilarating.
  • I am a binge writer not a disciplined writer.
  • I did a Kickstarter campaign to pay for the publishing of my book.
  • We as women keep ourselves small versus seeing the impact we make in the world.
  • Lesson #1: Float and flow!
  • Stay in the flow where things are moving easily even though you might be working hard.
  • Float verssus struggle. It's all about not being in the energy of hustling but be in the energy of flow.
  • Lesson #2: Follow your own arrow.
  • "You should do it this way or you won't be successful" YUCK!
  • Stay out of your "shoulds" and other peoples "shoulds".
  • Lesson #3: Always honor how you work.
  • One of the luxuries of being a small business owner is the freedom to create the schedule that works for you.
  • When are you productive? Honor it!
  • Lesson #4 Take time to be creative with yourself.
  • Sometimes we take something joyful and make it stressful. STOP IT!
