So many people are looking to have peace of mind especially by doing what they love but unfortunately it seems to escape them. This doesn't seem to make sense. Shouldn't you have peace of mind if you are doing what you love? Why is it not happening?

Could it be that what one think they are doing is really not what they love to do? Or is there still something missing?

There are a few ways to go about answering or addressing this issue. One of those would be from a spiritual perspective, which will be a conversation for another time.

Because in this episode our guest - Tamara Douge aka Gemma - shares with us how she is able to find peace of mind by being in the kitchen doing what she love ... cooking.

You will hear Gemma share her journey after leaving her home of Haiti and journeyed to the United States.

Having completed her MBA and worked in an industry for over 20 years, feeling burnt out by it and having seen the "politics" of the industry from the inside, she decided there has to be more.

She started a blog to talk about what she loved to do - cooking, and as they say the rest is history.

Favorite Haitian Dish:

Haitian Saying: "Peteet" (I know I'm spelling it wrong but I'm writing it as it sounds). It can be used in a context to show shock; unbelief in a good way such as the word really.

Definition of Success:

  • My will to continue to be better
  • Learn to accept things the way they are
  • Remembering there is a higher Being in control

Lessons learned:

  1. Life is not about making sure that you are better than others. It’s finding yourself
  2. Be open.
  3. Be willing to learn.
  4. Put your ego on the side.
  5. Listen to people.
  6. Respond to your environment in a positive way.

Tweet:- the goal is not to live forever. the goal is to create something that will.

Stephen’s Bio:

She is a culinary enthusiast and the coolest aunty of six nieces and nephews. Her upbringing laid the groundwork for her to inevitably become a wellness and food addict
