This month’s Movie Cocktail category was for martial arts movies. The Karate Kid (1984) beat out 3 other contenders in our twitter poll. We discuss our experiences with the movie, break the story down, and discuss some fun behind the scenes info that we think is fun. We have fun placing Karate Kid in the Rocky universe and the TMNT universe. Just imagine The Odd Couple redone in a retirement home with Miyagi and Mickey. This month’s original cocktail is Miyagi’s Banzai Balance -Fill pitcher with water -Cut up 1 lime, 1 stalk of mint, and one cucumber and place into water. Let sit for 24 hrs. -2 oz Sake -1 oz Shochu -2 cups infused water -shake it -pour over ice -parsley, mint, and lime wedge as garnish -top off with tsp lime juice and a splash of sake on top the ice.
