What a great interview we had with the Recruiting Manager for Roblox, Andrew Heywood. Andrew is a recruiting manager for Roblox, overseeing the infrastructure organization's hiring efforts. He has spent his career building impactful teams (both domestically and internationally) for disruptive companies. He initially started his career in Japan living there for 5 years and working for a top recruitment agency in Tokyo. Upon return back to California, he has had the pleasure of working extensively with Founders, C-Level Executives, VPs, Directors, and Hiring Managers to attract top talent and develop successful teams for various size companies and stages.
In this conversation, Andrew gave us some valuable tips on how your application can shine brighter than the others. For example, don't spam your resume to every contact in the company, instead, do your homework and find the right contact in the company based on the role you want. Also, make sure to tailor your resume to the role you want within the company, this will set you apart from the competition.
