In a humorous scene in the Solo trailer, Han is taken off guard when Chewbacca apparently indicates that he can fly the Millennium Falcon by flipping several switches in the cockpit. Solo asks Chewie, “Since when do you know how to fly?” Chewie grunts a reply to which Han shockingly responds, “190 years old!?! You look great!” It’s a funny sequence. But it also tells us that Chewbacca is around 200 years old when he and Han pick up an old wizard, a kid, two droids, and no questions asked in A New Hope. Wookiepedia states that Wookies have an average lifespan of 400 years. Can someone say, Chewbacca: A Star Wars Story? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookiee We Got a First Glimpse of Chewbacca’s Wife On another related note, it appears we’re going to see Chewbacca’s family in Solo! At the 1:30 mark, Chewbacca is shown in an affectionate embrace with another Wookie. As they hug each other with their foreheads pressed together, it seems clear we will be getting at least some of Chewie’s backstory.
