Mark Hamill Said George Lucas Would Have Killed Luke Skywalker Too In an interview with IGN.com, Mark Hamill revealed what he knows about George Lucas’ original plan for Luke Skywalker. While some fans seem to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown as they claim that Rian Johnson killed their childhood in The Last Jedi, they might be surprised to learn that Crazy Uncle George planned on killing everyone’s favorite Jedi by the end of Episode 9. Hamill said, "I happen to know that George didn't kill Luke until the end of (Episode) 9, after he trained Leia." The source described Phil Lord and Chris Miller as “out of their depth” as they would shoot the same scene thirty times in hopes they could find what they needed on the cutting room floor. The source also gave more details about Alden Ehrenreich and the shocking decision to bring in an acting coach to help him learn how to mimic Harrison Ford’s version of Han Solo. But with the replacement of Lord and Miller with Ron Howard and the help of the coach, things definitely took a turn for the better. The source said, “You could see his acting became more relaxed.
