When news broke that scientists had photographed a black hole, imaginations were ignited around the world. Reportedly, it measures 40 billion kilometres across - that's three million times the size of Earth. It took eight telescopes situated in various spots around the world to capture the black hole, which is 500 million trillion kilometres away. To tell us what this significant discovery and photograph means, The Agenda welcomes Avery Broderick of the University of Waterloo, and Sarah Gallagher of Western University.
