In the second of four episodes focusing on nonprofit publisher Annual Reviews and the ongoing evolution of the organization, Bill talks with Richard Gallagher, the President and Editor-in-Chief, about the organization’s desire and efforts to move to an open access publication model. The first journal they released open access was the Annual Review of Public health, and Richard discusses the remarkable uptick in use the journal has seen. One surprise Richard highlights is the remarkable variety of places using the journal. Additional universities have begun downloading the content as well as health policy organizations, and prisons. What to make of the variety of use cases? Listen to find out.
