I was playing a horror game recently where you get chased by a monster and—YOU NEED TO RUN WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT! Looking back can slow you down. It can cause you to get even more terrified. It might even allow the monster a chance to kill you. Keep going forward until you reach your goal.
In life, it can be important to revisit our past, but it can also cause us to not go forward. Looking back at past relationships that are no longer in our life. Looking back at our past mistakes. Even being stuck in something because it is tradition.
This week I’d like to encourage us to move forward. Don’t look back, unless it’s necessary. I’m fighting my urges to look back at things right now. But let’s press on towards the door that will move us to our goal!
