Our first show of March was a great one as we got to spend a half-hour talking to the third most winningest MLB Manager of All-Time, Three-time World Series Champion and former Kansas City Athletic, Tony LaRussa. Of course Tony is best known for his managerial career winning championships with the Oakland A's and the St. Louis Cardinals, but his career started right here in Kansas City -- A career that included such names as Albert Pujols, Mark McGwire and... Greg Pryor?? Tony was extremely generous with his time and talked with us about that year in Kansas City, and how playing in Kansas City for Charley Finley helped shape him in to the manager that would become number 3 all-time in managerial wins. Following our LaRussa interview, we caught up with former Royals Infielder Big John Mayberry. We talked with Mayberry about his time guarding first base at Royals Stadium, his MLB son, John Mayberry Jr. and whether he thinks Eric Hosmer can hit more homers this year. Join us every week live on ESPN 1510 AM in Kansas City for The Ballgame from 4-5 Wednesdays. Also take part in the discussion at facebook.com/theballgamekc or twitter.com/theballgamekc.
