Susan Landau, professor in the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the School of Engineering at Tufts University and visiting professor at University College London, former senior privacy analyst at Google, a Cybersecurity Hall of Fame inductee and the author of Listening In: Cybersecurity in an Insecure Age (Yale University Press, 2017), argues that despite law enforcement's interest in getting around encryption, the risks outweigh the rewards of stronger security.
