Most of us live increasingly fast-paced, active and even stressed lifes. Minds are fossey and attention is disappeared. In the West, we practice a lot of YANG Yoga (think of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Bikram) which is about muscle strengthening & lengthening through rhythmic, flowing movements. Do you wonder why you still feel all over the place after a yoga class? You probably need more Yin in your life!
The Danish Marie Kristine Rost is known as the "Queen of Yin" in Copenhagen. This lady is all into Yin Yoga but not the kind that makes you snuggle onto your bolster and chill out for a hour. She's an advocate of the kind of Yin that stimulates the fascia , connective tissue, ligaments, tendons and joints resulting in a deeply relaxing practice. While creating “space” in the body the mind calms down. Kristine herself stopped practicing Yang Yoga at all, she rises her energy rather by cycling around in Copenhagen. The good thing about YIN? No matter your age, posture, experience, this practice is for every-body who wants to get grounded and move better!

Kristine has been teaching yoga for many years but will always remain a student herself. She's off to Thailand for a Chi course soon. "When you take a Teacher training, you need to feed the practice in the bone. You'll need months for it to be under the skin. In order to keep giving you have to keep learning and stay inspired. That's the whole Yin Yang principle!"

Kristine loves to teach retreats because it's extremely beneficial to stick to the practice and a good teacher for a couple of days. It's not just another holiday but it will the beginning of something new.
