My guest today is Josefine Campbell, an author and executive coach who lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Josefine draws on her academic expertise, 25+ years of professional experience, and her martial arts background in jiu-jitsu, where she practiced to focus on thriving in unpredictable situations and was a four-time Danish Champion.

Josefine is the author of two books, which you’ll hear about in our conversation, and has written a number of articles on leadership and collaboration in the modern work life that has been published in the international press.

Here are my takeaways:

1. Inner Strength needs to be cultivated in modern work life

2. We are designed for survival and the brain does not know the difference between being chased in the jungle or being high-jacked in a meeting.

3. The first step in preventing being highjacked is Awareness. Become aware of the signals your body is telling you.

4. Awareness Matrix looks at personal energy and cognitive capabilities to determine whether you are in the Red Zone and highjacked or Green Zone where you are ready.

5. Release the energy tension in order to be your authentic self. Make small changes to find what works for you.

6. Everyone knows the feeling of leaving a meeting completely drained. That is what it feels like to have your energy impacted.

7. Energy is inside us, outside of us and between us.
