Dr. RJ Turner was set on becoming an orthopaedic surgeon. And right before that "dream" became a reality, his path was derailed after finding out that he didn't match.

On today's episode, we talk about:

  • Whether he regrets letting go of surgery and going into primary care.
  • How he ultimately ended up pursuing family medicine, a specialty he initally "wrote off" and didn't consider in medical school.
  • Common misconceptions of family medicine. (Some may surprise you!)
  • Why networking is so vital as a doctor and trainee.
