In the Old Testament( Covenant), God's chosen people( The Jews) could legitimately pray "Give us our daily bread" and God would oblige. The non Jewish people in the other nations of the world had no right to God's blessings because they were not party to the agreement that made God's provision their inheritance.

"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith". Galatians 3v13-14 NET
