115: “If we inherit our ancestral trauma, we also inherit our ancestral resistance, joy, & resilience.” Dismantling white supremacy one scene at a time with Francesca Fernandez McKenzie

This interview is also available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/WFTgFwjHorE

Actor, Educator, & Producer Francesca Fernandez McKenzie (proudly representing the SF Bay Area AKA Ohlone territory) founded Encompass Collective - an actor training center for new, global majority artists at sliding scale rates - after graduating from Yale School of Drama with her Master’s degree in acting.

Jen, Nani & Francesca talk about the different spaces they’ve been in community with each other throughout the pandemic, how Francesca transformed her perceived professional drought into a unique opportunity to build intentional work supporting other BIPOC (/BIMPOC/global majority) artists, and share bicoastal resources for Filipinx folks looking to connect with their roots.
