Recently retired defender Dan Hamhuis, joins Craig Custance to celebrate his 16 year NHL career with the Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars and his hometown Vancouver Canucks.
Dan looks back with Craig how he came to the decision to retire, and what it was like to do just that inside the Edmonton bubble.
Plus Dan takes Craig through the process of being a free agent, and leaving Nashville for Vancouver back in 2010. Dan also looks back on the notorious hit on Milan Lucic in game one of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, that backfired and ended his season.
From there, Dan discusses trying out for Team Canada at the Olympics, missing the cut in 2010, but making the team for the Winter Games in Sochi, winning Gold for Canada.
Dan also tells Craig why it is so important to him and his family to be able to give back to others less fortunate than him, and why his beloved town of Smithers, British Columbia is the perfect place for the Hamhuis family to retire to.
