Duncan Slater was on patrol in Afghanistan as part of Operation Pather’s Claw in 2009 when his vehicle drove over a roadside bomb. The explosion threw him from the vehicle, breaking nearly every bone in his body. After more than a year of complications during rehabilitation, he made the decision to have both legs amputated. Four years later he skied to the South Pole along with Prince Harry to raise funds for ‘Walking with the Wounded' - this is part one of his extraordinary journey!
