As Ric Flair carried the NWA World Heavyweight Championship through most of the 1980's, WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan was quickly becoming the face of pro wrestling to the mainstream audience.

The two top champs in the two top promotions, each representative of two different styles of wrestling. As their respective promotions fought to become the undisputed juggernaut in the business, the thought of a Hogan/Flair matchup was nothing more than a pipe dream.

Zip ahead to 1991, and Flair shockingly left the NWA, still carrying the promotion's title belt, and showed up on WWF TV calling himself "the real world champion."

The stage was set for the dream match to finally take place. Would it live up to it's potential?
