#VHS4T1D: The Hate U Give for Linda

So this is a unique installment of the #VHS4T1D series. In this episode Dan sits down with Stephanie and Lily and Danny to talk about a movie that Lily picked out! Our good friend, Linda donated to the campaign but said she didn't care what movie we did. When we pressed her to make a choice she said we could do whatever movie Lily wanted. When she said that, the assumption we had was that we'd do a fun family movie, but Lily had other plans! She wanted to watch the 2018 film The Hate U Give, a film about race, identity, protesting and police violence and how it impacts the youth. So, while we were nervous to discuss this film for fear of misspeaking or saying something totally off base, we decided it was the right call, since these are the discussions that are happening at home and it was important to Lily to have this discussion on the show.
