GallantFew is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to reducing veteran unemployment, homelessness and suicide. Our scheduled guest today is Ranger Veteran turned small business owner Dallas Barber. His custom shop, DGB Fabrication and Customs produced the awesome machines pictured on this show page. A native southern Californian, Dallas grew up surfing and racing motocross. Most of the men in his family were Veterans, with his step father an Army pilot and father a retired CSM with service in Korea, WWII and Vietnam. Deciding to enter the military, he called his dad and asked him advice which was "go be an airborne Ranger, they're the baddest motherf****** around", so that's what Dallas did. After graduating from Ranger Indoctrination Program in April 2006, he served in the 2nd Ranger Battalion for two deployments then was selected for the TSE section (now known as RSTA - Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition). After six years Dallas left active duty, and following stints in overseas contracting and an attempt at a small business in construction he decided to pursue his passion and mechanical inclinations and open a custom car shop. Thus was born DGB Fabrication and Customs. Dallas says "This new endeavor has brought me great joy so far (a whopping 4 weeks). I now do what I love and get paid to do so. With 2 kids, a wife and an overpriced Rottweiler, I'm right where I want to be". Following Dallas we'll hear from Sudy Bharadwaj, CEO of Jackalope Jobs to talk about the new 1kVets initiative, with a goal of helping a thousand veterans improve their employability before the end of the year!
