In this episode, Darwin is joined by co-host Second Chance Hiker to discuss the false expectations we can put on ourselves or others in the outdoor community. When we take the leap and set off on big adventures (thru hikes, bike tours, van life, etc…) we often do so with certain expectations of what it will be like or what we will get out of the experience. Likewise, as some people develop a following on their various adventures through social media, false expectations can arise from their audience on who they “should be” or what they “should do”. What happens when our adventures don't end up the way we thought they would? How should we feel when we aren't living up to the expectations of others?
