At this moment in time as COVID-19, better known as the Coronavirus, has created a worldwide pandemic and crisis, we are still navigating the sports waters. Without any actual sports league activity at the moment, we ventured to a reflective state this week on the show especially with the Philadelphia Phillies 2003 season.
To start off the show, we talked about what competitive "sports" and games we've been watching on TV. It's certainly slim pickings. (approx. 5:00)
From there, we discussed the current Eagles free agency moves as well as the lack of wide receivers moves the front office has made this offseason, given how they're one of the worst wide receiver corps in the NFL. (approx. 10:50)
We then dove into how much of a piece of garbage Sixers owner Josh Harris is after being publicly pressured to do the right thing and pay his employees a full salary. Plus, major props to Joel Embiid for being a key part of Harris' decision (approx. 20:05)
This week on the Highbrow Segment, the topic we discussed was how Major League Baseball has an opportunity at the moment to get the coming CBA right. Will the owners and players help to stabilize baseball in the future? (approx. 31:00)
On the Lowbrow Segment, we dished out our top-3 sports documentaries. (approx. 41:40)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is our reflections of Jim Thome's 2 home run game against the Boston Red Sox in 2003, what an amazing moment it t was as that year was the start of a new era in Phillies baseball (approx. 58:10)
