Richard Hubbard grew up in northern Connecticut. He wasn't obese as a kid, but definitely overweight. Rich first lost weight when he went to college. At Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, he found himself exercising, walking for long hours over the weekends in New York City. After college, he began having sedentary jobs. He eventually found himself over 350 pounds. He went to the doctor for a physical. The doctor told Rich he was morbidly obese and threatened medication for hypertension. Rich's journey began. He lost 150 pounds and eventually became plant-based, avoiding medication and completely reversed his health problems. In this episode we discuss: Being overweight as a child through university Adult obesity and avoiding the doctor The doctors visit “Morbidly obese” Not wanting to be like everyone else What created the weight gain Courage and fear Internet searching - G-BOMB Why plant-based when there is so much out there?
