Reputation is a word that is so pervasive in our culture that we really don’t think about it. It’s like water or air. It’s just part of our existence so while we worry when it is impacted, on a day to day basis, we don’t really think much about it.

Before we start getting into how our reputation is formed and how it impacts our visibility let's first talk about what it is and what it isn’t.

Today's podcast is inspired by Captivology - the science of capturing people’s attention by Ben Parr

The experiments mentioned in the book come from Chapter 6 of Captivology. The are referenced and explained by Ben Parr.

Mentioned in the Show

The Ed Sullivan Show

Parent's Just Don't Understand by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince

Lyrics

I said, "Mom, what are you doing, you're ruining my rep"

She said, "You're only sixteen, you don't have a rep yet"

Show Quote

"I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots" ~ Albert Einstein
