Six-Pack of Ric Ocasek, Volume One

On this Six-Pack episode, Jon Lamoreaux of The Hustle Podcast, Joe Royland of Sit & Spin with Joe, and Eric Miller of Pods & Sods celebrate the life and work of Ric Ocasek. Ric's career as a songwriter goes back to the late 60s, his relationship with Benjamin Orr started in 1967 and the two stuck together through the 70s in various configurations. But it wasn't until the two found themselves in Boston and connected with Elliot Easton, Greg Hawkes, and David Robinson that The Cars were truly born. They came out strong with what many consider to be the greatest debut album ever. A series of multi-platinum albums and a slew of hits followed until they kinda broke up in the mid-to-late 80s. Ric continued for the following decades as a beloved solo artist and highly successful and coveted producer. His unique style as a songwriter and singer coupled with his image as the coolest guy in any room have made him a true rock and roll icon and hero to many.

Ric passed away earlier this week while recovering from surgery and so we wanted to pay tribute.

So sit back, brush your rock and roll hair, and join us as we honor one of the greats, Mr Ric Ocasek.
