Premier League Betting

We have a distinctly European flavour on the podcast today, we’re not only going to talk about the Premier League and Championship action but we’ll also be talking about the best of the Bundesliga, La Liga and there’s some cheeky Portuguese action too. We’ve even got our first guest in on the show, ProTipster David, our ProTipster Spain guru.

Premier League Betting

First though, here on The ProTipster Show we love The Championship and what a way to kick off this weekend’s action with the Steel City derby where Sheffield United will be taking on Sheffield Wednesday. Can The Blades get back to winning ways after their mid-season wobble by beating their old rivals Wednesday or will the Owls prevail?

Next up we turn to Germany where forth-placed Bayer Leverkusen will be hosting FC Hollywood in the first game back ending the Bundesliga winter break. Bayern are of course, without many of their first team stars so we have to ask the ProTipster Boys whether Bayer can get something from this match.

Saturday sees a whole load of action from all over Europe, except my favoured Serie A (boo!) and we kick off with the Premier League match between Chelsea and Leicester City at Stamford bridge. Alvaro Morata isn’t scoring and Jamie Vardy is a doubt to start. Chelsea should see off Leicester here but is there any value in this match worth betting on.

Tottenham Hotspur Vs Everton is the next one to make the cut. We can all imagine that Everton manager Sam Allardyce is going to park the bus at Wembley, something you can’t accuse him of doing during his short England manager stint, so the question is will Mauricio Pochettino’s side be able to break down The Toffee’s defence.

We then go down the English tiers and have a quick gander at the Championship match between Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. Forest have just had a very famous win in the FA Cup third round against Arsenal, while Villa recently trashed the current favourite of the football hipsters Bristol City 5-0. Villa fans are apparently upset that this game is going to be shown on television. ProTipster Dan has a theory as to why.

Premier League Betting

We’re off to Europe next with our first stop being Red Bull Leipzig taking on FC Schalke in the Bundesliga. ProTipster Johnny takes change here as our resident European football specialist and finds some great value in the match. He then fills us in about a fascinating match up in Portugal where fierce rivals Braga will be hosting Benfica. Again, Johnny takes his typically statistical look at the game and finds some more value in the betting markets.

As a new feature on the podcast we welcome ProTipster David, our ProTipster Espana expert and we get to talk to him about this weekend’s action from La Liga, we also talk a bit about the pressure that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane finds himself under and we speak about where he’s going wrong with his team selection and game management. We then chat about where Philipe Coutinho will fit into the Barcelona side. Barca have pretty much won the league and he won’t be able to play in the Champions League so we speak about whether this was a statement transfer by the Catalans because they lost Neymar last summer or if it’s actually a transfer to improve the team.

We have a look then at the Spanish match up between Real Madrid and Villareal and if there’s ever been a good time to play Real Madrid then it’s now, Zidane is under pressure, the team aren’t playing well and the ever-demanding Real fans are baying for blood. Can Villareal get anything here? It depends on which Real Madrid shows up doesn’t it?

Finally then our last match to talk about is the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester City. Liverpool manager Jurgen Kloop shares a good record against Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, and City haven’t won at Anfield in any of their 5 previous visits. Can Liverpool possibly put a temporary halt to the Cityzen’s freight train or will City put on another show like when they beat Liverpool in Manchester 5-0 earlier in the season.

So that’s it then listeners, thanks so much for listening, please tell your football mad friends all about us.
