Episode 4: What to do when Waiting for the Next Raid, Hotfixes Already, Preparing Servers for Release Days

Intro:

This is the fourth episode of the The Raider's Confessional. This week Ryan is joined by his two co-hosts, Cole and Dan. This week the guys talk about what they do when they are waiting for the next tier of raid, both on the individual level and as a group. The guys also touch on some of the relevant news this week.

All three of the guys have been playing WoW for a very long time now, some as long as the beta stages of Vanilla. Each one of the guys have their own unique way in which they view the game and a methodology to their approach to raiding.

What to do When Waiting for the Next Raid:

Each of the guys has their own responsibilities in the raid group. Ryan and Dan are both officers and have their administrative duties to take care of and Cole is one the melee dps. This means that each of the three guys has their own set roles to fill. Some may have more responsibilities than others but they do each have their own and they can be very different. Cole likes to spend his time doing some of the things in game he finds more fun like old content for transmog and alts. Ryan and Dan both spend a lot of time working on guild policies that need tweaking, raid strats for the upcoming raid, and recruitment. The guys talk at length on each of these points, a few more, and also talk about how what works for one guild might be different for others. They key is to just make sure what is best for your guild and will give the best chance at long term success and keep the morale high.

Closing:

As the guys wind down the conversation they take a small amount of time to discuss the news that Blizzard already had hot-fixes lined up for after the release day of 7.2.5. With both Dan and Cole having jobs in the tech industry the discussion closes out with their thoughts on how much can Blizzard really prepare for server issues on a content release day.

Thanks:

Thank you so much for listening. We certainly hope you found our banter worth while to listen to. This has been an idea for quite some time now and we are super excited to be able to make this happen. We don't know what the future holds but a lot of that is dependent on you the listeners. Any feedback you all can give us will be more than appreciated. Again, thank you for listening and we will talk to you in the next episode.
