Should I Get My Real Estate License?
Manage episode 317367930 series 2504329
This is a very frequently asked question for us. Getting a real estate license is a popular decision for many people, but only a fraction of those with a real estate license really make a career with it.
REASONS FOR:
- It’s a rewarding career path.
- The profession can accommodate a wide range of personalities and expertise.
- You can access the MLS and can directly schedule showings.
- I can work symbiotically with other professional experience, both past and concurrent.
- You can unlock additional resources, market data, and trainings with your brokerage and local Realtor associations.
- Obtaining a license is not especially difficult.
REASONS AGAINST:
- In addition to the initial classes and here are ongoing obligations for licensure and continuing ed.
- You are now expected to be the professional you need.
- It can prevent you from wholesaling.
TO CONSIDER:
- Can you articulate your goals in real estate?
- Will you be able commit to consistently and sustainably building your business?
- Are you willing to learn?
THE BOTTOM LINE
Real estate can be a rewarding, flexible career choice as your full-time career or a complimentary one. However, you should think twice about just “hanging your license” or treating it as a passive pursuit.
