Once again, headlines are dominated by news of a potential economic downturn. The president has both claimed the US is in great shape and headed for disaster - huh? Is the 24 hour news cycle wagging the economic dog into a recession? How much fear-mongering can we tolerate? Brian provides a poetic analogy: trees and the economy behave similarly with a need to "chill hours" - roots can't grow without winter, and the economy must ebb in order to innovate and recalibrate. It's not if, but when: but that doesn't mean Depression. The market isn't the economy, but that doesn't stop pundits from dramatizing its news. Truth, logic, and unemotional approaches are practical, but that doesn't sell add space.
