Red meat production remains strong - according to latest figures.

An Australian Bureau of Statistics report shows lamb slaughter has lifted to its highest number on record with 7.2 million head processed this quarter.

Beef production has also risen 14% since the last quarter.

Rural editor Emily Minney caught up with Meat and Livestock Australia Market Analyst Erin Lukey to hear more about the figures.
