Steve Mouzakis is an award-winning Australian artist who has become rather synonymous with bringing a certain gravitas to the characters he plays. Known for his work on the Stuart Beattie directed film I, Frankenstein alongside Bill Nighy, Aaron Eckhart, and Miranda Otto; smash-hit Darkness Falls which opened at number one at the U.S. box office, Spike Jones' Where The Wild Things Are, the Netflix hit The Suicide Theory, and his breakout role in the U.S. as Van Gogh, on the rebooted Tv series and fan-favourite, Prison Break. Mouzakis continues to surprise and delight with the choices he makes.
Steve Mouzakis' vast body of work has seen his efforts rewarded with a Green Room Award for his performance in Cherry Orchard with the Melbourne Theatre Company, as well as winning the best actor award at the St Kilda Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
With candour and humour, Mouzakis joins us in this episode to talk about his experiences in the industry, his approach to developing a character, and why Bill Nighy said to him before a take, that 'this is all a bit ridiculous'.
