The Open Innovation Contest is a global contest that includes events in 20 cities in 18 regions around the world. The United States Finals will be happening in Menlo Park, CA on January 31st, 2019 and in Boston, MA on February 1st, 2019 with the global finals being held in Japan. The contest encourages startups in many different areas of technology including: AR/VR, Automation, Automotive, RPA, Fintech, Insurtech and Healthtech.

Eric and Kris go into the history of the contest as well as how NTT leverages their ecoysystem of tehcnologists, VCs and other stakeholders to promote and cultivate the startup finalists of the Open Innovation program. They also make the point that startups do not wait until the next Open Innovation contest starts to get engaged. Interested companies can begin the application process any time for future consideration.
