We're getting a better idea of how Metro Vancouver drivers might be charged under a new mobility pricing scheme. An independent commission studying the issue says it's narrowed the options down to two -- A system of tolling points, or distance based-fees that vary by time and location. It says public feedback showed people were worried about fairness, affordability, and per-kilometre fees -- but supported more transit and consistent and predictable travel times. The commission says it will now research its top two pricing options -- and collect public feedback later this month.
