Ever wondered how radically your life could change by giving up alcohol? Faye Louise from Sydney joins us to share her transformative sobriety journey. With a blend of humor and heartfelt introspection, she opens up about her early drinking habits that began as a plea for her father’s attention post-divorce and how this escalated through her university days and 20s leading to regular blackout drinking and feelings of shame.
The turning point came after a wild trip to Dubai, when she decided to take a six-month break from alcohol. Faye is now 17 months sober and excited about the possibilities of sobriety in her 30s.
Faye discusses how her friendships have changed since she stopped drinking alcohol and how people reacted to her sobriety as well as how she has found more enjoyment and self-love in her sober life.
Together, Faye and I explore the fresh, vibrant world of sober socialising. We talk about the initial shock from friends and followers, the shedding of the "party girl" identity, and the unexpected joy of nights out without alcohol.
Faye also talks about her plans for the future, including creating a program that combines sobriety and self-love, and organising meetups for sober and sober-curious individuals in Sydney. You can find Faye Louise on instagram @fayelouise_____
