Did you know exercise decreases pain from arthritis? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. There are number of different things you can take for arthritis pain, but the one of the best ways to control arthritic pain is actually free. Did you know that low-impact to moderate levels of exercise can help? It’s true and research has shown that water aerobics is a great way to achieve this, not only does it decrease pain, it increases mobility and range of motion. Even though your symptoms from arthritis may make you want to stay on the couch, it’s so important that you resist that urge and get moving instead. IF you don’t have access to a pool, just go for walks and stretch each morning and evening. You will be amazed at how much better you feel.
