Jeremiah Thoronka has faced many difficult challenges — from Sierra Leone's civil war, the Ebola outbreak, the passing of family members, and now facing the coronavirus pandemic far from home. But at just 20 years old, the UN fellow and budding scientist has turned trash into clean energy, and has learned how to confront the challenges of a distressing year to work for a better tomorrow.
