On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, a US Navy research ship was attacked by the Israeli Air Force. The crew is entitled to know the details concerning the attack by the Government of Israel and the role of the US Government in the entire affair. The USS Liberty is the only US Navy ship attacked by a foreign nation, involving a large loss of life and so many personnel injured that has never been accorded a full Congressional hearing.
