Summary: The jags are flying high in the National Aviary’s brand-new Garden Room. Cathy Schlott and Bob Mulvihill from the National Aviary, Colleen McKerley from the Light of Life, the garden man Doug Oster, and the River City Brass Band are all stopping by to chat.

4:30 Cathy Schlott: Night of Tropics is BACK at the National Aviary with Cathy Schlott, who should be the Aviary’s spokesperson! Hula dancers will take the guests to paradise, and exotic fire shows will keep the party going until late at night. And there’s an in-person and virtual walk too. All of this is “for the birds” if a don’t mind us saying!

14:31 Robert S. Mulvihill: Robert S. Mulvihilli has the bird gene as the National Aviary’s Ornithologist. Don’t know what that is, well..he tells us. There’s only one National Aviary in the entire country and it’s here in the Burgh. What's the largest bird in the aviary? How about the smallest? What is one item that Bob says you shouldhave with you for your Aviary for maximum enjoyment?

28:08 Colleen McKerley: What’s more Pittsburgh than this? The Light of Life Mission created the Yinzer 4.12K and Lil' Yinzer .412k Fun Run. The race is back by popular demand but it’s no longer a 5K...it’s 4.12 but you can participate no matter what area code you live in. On-site racers will have to avoid squirt guns, beach balls and other obstacles as they walk and run. Oh, and their’s a costume contest too!

39:45 Doug Oster: If you haven't started gardening yet, there's still time, says Pittsburgh’s garden guru Doug Oster. Most garden plants are currently on sale this time of year and, as long ast you follow his instructions, you can still plant flowers and gardens! Check out Doug’s new TV show on CBS Pittsburgh Streaming, Saturdays at 9 a.m.

55:35 River City Brass Band: James Gourlay is the director and conductor on the tuba for the River CIty Brass Band which plays every type of music, even Lizzo. The RCB Band travels all over the United States and has also toured Europe. Brass bands are very popular in England but the RCB Band is the only one of it’s kind in the U.S. and, of course, it’s based in Pittsburgh.
