Manage episode 307961926 series 3010610
For the 7th episode of the Then And Now Interview Series, I speak with Billy O'Neill. Billy is a legendary long-time professional inline skater from Staten Island, New York. He is one half of Jump Street Podcast with Austin Paz and is a co-owner and the face behind Mesmer Skate Brand. In this interview, we talk about everything you want to know about Mesmer, the team, the skates, the molds, and how it all got started. We also talk about his music, playing in a band with John Bolino and falling out with him. We go into how they made up, became friends again, and discussed starting a skate brand. Billy goes into the origins of Jump Street and who he wants to see on the show in the future. He talks about injuries, his proudest moments, his prime, leaving USD, where he wants to retire, and more. Episode 7 is the most extended interview in this series but is jam-packed full of in-depth stories from the heart and soul of Billy O'Neill.
