TCBOO-Podcast-logoTwo movies titled (The) Survivor enter, only one will leave (with that title) as Herman “OmegaPrime” Davis, Michael Alford, and Robert Rau watch Pierce Brosnan be really bad a being a spy — and the Australian M. Night Shyamalan — to determine which movie should be called (The) Survivor.

The first movie had higher hopes than a direct-to-video release. Starring Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermott, and plenty others, this movie saw Olympus Has Fallen and thought “me too.” While a sinister plot to blow up New York during the New Years Celebration seems interesting, this movie did plenty to prove otherwise. Plus, this had little to do with Milla Jovovich surviving and more to do with Pierce Brosnan being so bad at his job that she got to live.

The second movie is a psychological thriller from Australia, starring the not-famous-here Robert Powell as the lone survivor in a plane crash. He decides there must be a reason why he lived, and seeks the help of paranormal experts. This movie does drag a bit in the middle, and the only positive review came from Robert, but since he’s writing this he says this was an enjoyable movie with plenty of solid performances.

But what movie is good enough to call itself (The) Survivor? Listen if you dare.

You can check out Michael Alford at Time Out Lounge on Mondays for trivia, or see him host “Trivial Objections” at the Manship. Go to their website to find out about upcoming shows.
