On this special Thanksgiving Think Hope Podcast, Dr. Rosalind Tompkins and her guests share how giving thanks brings hope no matter what you are going through. She also shares how to give thanks and unleash hope to move forward in life. Hope has been said to be pregnant expectancy. In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible states, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (KJV). It is so important to hope until you cannot have faith without it. Hope will give you a reason to get up in the morning and continue to press on. Hope will give you a reason not to give up and to try again even after you fail. Hope will heal your disappointments and cover your failures because with hope, there is always tomorrow. Hope speaks to your future while in the midst of your today, and hope will propel you into your tomorrow's destiny. Even in the midst of trouble, hope can be your way out. In the Book of Hosea 2:15, the Bible states, And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt” (KJV). The expression valley of Achor became proverbial for that which caused trouble. The valley of Achor for a door of hope; i.e., trouble would be turned into joy, and despair into hope. When we sing and give thanks even in the midst of our trouble, God will turn trouble into joy, but you must access it through the door of hope. Thanksgiving allows you walk through the door of hope, and come into the place of trust and faith in God to know that He has you in the palm of His hands and that trouble won’t last always.
