On this weeks episode, host turns guest as @dmancari18 discusses shore-based fluke fishing in this part one of two episodes.

In part one, we discuss the single jig technique for shore based fluke fishing and where it started. Fishing for flounder from the beach isn’t a new phenomenon, however over the years, new technology in terms of rod builds and gear has changed the way many people approach targeting these flatties. From where it started with a conversation with @mcinteechris in 2017 or 2018 to today with fine tuning the skills brought to the forefront by another single jig assassin and friend Marc @shoremoney, the common theme is keeping it simple. This technique is the ultimate in finesse, ultralight fishing for one of the Northeast’s favorite fish. The focus of this episode is the history and gear used, from what Dan started with, to what he’s using today.

Part 2 will be next week and will break down with detail the technique, what types of beach structure to look for when walking onto any beach, and how to adapt and shift based on where the fish are transitioning in the system. Don’t miss it!
