Part of Queensgate Mall has reopened, though the eastern end of the mall is awaiting demolition after being damaged in the earthquake a fortnight ago. Lower Hutt mayor Ray Wallace is helping look at options for affected businesses to reopen elsewhere in the city in time to capitalise on the Christmas boom.
